Marundheeshwarar Kumbhabhishekam

Today the celestial Kumbhabhishekam ceremony happened in Thiruvanmiyur Marundheeswarar Temple.  We SFH friends did a Kalasam worship among many devotees.  On the eve of this festival, a classical music concert was arranged in temple premises.  Enjoyed the divine Saxophone music played by Kadri Gopalnath, Violin by Kanyakumari, Mridangam by Guruvayur Durai and Moursing by Rajasekar.

Outing to Queensland

After the enjoyable HCL team-outing of this quarter to “Queensland” theme-park in Chennai, suddenly a thought came to give a write-up on this.

As everyone expected we started our trip sharply & punctually (?) at 12:45 PM from ODC1. Around 30 people of our team gathered and occupied into a Van and 3 cars. On the way to Queensland there was a heavy traffic and people started to say “Oh! no”. At last we reached our destination around 2:15 PM and started exploring all (routing) paths in Queensland.

First and foremost, we enjoyed Himalayan Water Ride and as usual people continued their shouting. Then most of us entered into American Water Wave and had a lot of fun by throwing each and everyone of us by ourselves. Then we ran to Water Slider and enjoyed sliding. After these water games, we had fun on Roller Coaster, Karting, Bumper Car, Cable Car, etc. No one can forget the Crazy Horse and people were almost fell down from that Horse. At last we gathered into the mini-train (not T or S train) and had wonderful journey throughout Queensland.

On the way back, we played Anthakshari with our own Tamil, Hindi & Malayalam songs (too noisy). Then we came to Kwality Walls Ice ream parlor and our guys ordered different varieties of ice creams like TopGun, AfricanQueen, etc. After this wonderful ice cream session, we safely reached ODC1 at 9:00 PM.

To put it in a nutshell, we had lot of fun, we enjoyed fully and most importantly we came to know more about all of our team members & its a memorable day for us. Kudos to the organizers (Lavan, Nepolean, Mishra, Chandrasekar, Arul, Prasad).

Eagerly expecting these types of beautiful team outings in upcoming quarters !! Cheers to the Gang !!

V. Kiruthiga’s soul to rest in peace

Today a shocking day to our college friends that my classmate V. Kiruthiga, who was working in CTS passed away after the accident she met near Tidel Park.  All of our classmates and her family members had strong belief that she’ll get recovered soon when she was admitted in Malar Hospital, Adyar.  Past 5 days we were fully in the hospital with her relatives.  But the almighty was not in favour for our prayer on those days.  But till now all of our friends are praying for her soul to rest in peace and to give enough strength to her parents.

Bharathanatyam by Urmila

Today Pongal festival.  I and my daddy went to Lakshmi Sundaram Hall in Madurai to watch Bharathanatyam by Urmila Sathyanarayana. The theme of the dance was “Paanchali Sabhadam” and it’s a solo dance drama. Music was composed by Lalgudi G. Jeyaraman and lyrics by Va. Ve. Su. A nice cultural evening it was. Next day in the same venue we enjoyed the carnatic vocal concert by S. Sowmya.

Mahabalipuram trip with my classmates

None of our friends expected that, we 14 of our classmates will gather for a short drive to Mahabalipuram from Chennai.  We booked a van and started our fun-full journey in the morning with Satheesh, Balamurugan, Rajesh, Vijayaganesh, Ekanth, Saravanamoorthy, MadhanPrasad, MageshBabu, Prakash [karadi :-)], Kamalakannan, Anitha, Subhashini and Anandhi.  As usual in Mahabalipuram we made a visit to five rathas chariot stones, Beach Temple, etc.  The best part was playing games like Tambola, Baloon dumping into shirts, Bindi sticking on one’s face by forming groups among ourselves.  We played double-wicket cricket game also.  On the return way, we were singing and dancing inside the van, which was a total fun.  Evening we spent time at Thiruvanmiyur Beach, where Kanagadurga and Meenakumari joined us.  It was a memorable new year celebration.

Hi All,

The motivation behind this mail has been from Deepak’s words: Somebody after returning, send a mail with the ‘Highlightls’

As everyone expected we started our trip sharply & punctually by 11.30 AM from Thiruvanmiyur Bus Stand (It has to be started by 9.00 AM, Saraswathi and VKrithiga’s status were irony bcoz they had waited for a long time….. Kudos to Aanandhi and Nisha for coming late). In Bus Stand itself we had our friends (GaneshPrabhu, Ekanth, Deepak and RamPrasad EEE) to send off us. From there, we plunged into a Pondicherry ECR bus and we all had seats to settle down (expect some 4 vettis – Saravana, Satheesh, Rajesh & Jeyaram). With the grace of our Girls, we had snacks at Bus itself (Navanee and Balamurugan are paavam. They haven’t had snacks, bcoz they had seats at front). It was a nice experience to travel on ECR road with Beach view.

Sometime at noon, we reached Mahabalipuram and we together started seeing some sculptures (Elephant caves, Ratham, Light House Pillar, etc.) All the way, we chatted and had fun. Great discoverer Saravana always guided us to enter into wrong path and then we reverted to correct path. Vijayaganesh’s Juooo was over, by speaking with his useless cell always. As all expected our Jeyaram looked like Salman Khan. Kamalakannan suddenly gave Dharshan in Mahabalipuram by directly coming from Vetti Vadapalani. Pothi always had a broad smile in his face and seems to be a Silent Spectator. Kaliraj’s state was really pity. He arrived Mahabalipuram at 10.30 AM itself from his Uncle’s home and he waited for nearly 2 hours. He can’t able to locate us and he wandered here and there. Then we settled down and had “dumb cheers” of Tamil Songs. Two groups had formed with 9 members per group. Really we enjoyed a lot there and it took more than an hour. No one can forget the acts made to “Thara Thara Tharam” song and “Mellinamae” song. Mickey and her sister had prompted a lot of wrong answers.

After this, we had nice time at Beach and spent hardly 45 minutes there. Nearly at 4.30PM we started for return journey. First we came to Kovalam by bus. In Kovalam, we had a nice time at Tea stall (we haven’t had Tea there, but to safeguard us from rain). At that time, Anitha presented a gift to all (gift = Bubble Gum). And then we took a Van for returning from Kovalam to Thiruvanmiyur. It was really enjoyable time in Van (rain was continuing), while came via Old Mahabalipuram road. We can’t able to bear the Allaparai of TCS, CTS and Infosys people, why bcoz, they were displaying their offices continuously on the way. Thaanga Mudiyala…..

Anyway, we arrived safely and we had a lot of fun there… This mini trip replicated our Good Old College Day Tours!!! But we were missed a lot of our class guys/gals and also their wonderful participation. Expecting these kind of Cherising trips in future also !!! and Cheers to the Gang !!!

Prabhu H
