Thirumalai Nayakar Palace, Madurai

mahal.jpgSome of my friends came to Madurai and stayed in our home to attend my classmate Sakthi – Priya’s marriage. So I made a visit to Thirumalai Nayakar palace with Vijayaganesh, Rajesh, Kannan, Balasubramani, Chenniappan. The palace is really an art-piece of Nayakar days with magnificent white pillars and large halls. Till today, this palace is a major tourist attraction and a cinema shooting spot.

I was in Madurai last during this summer,2007.It is a magnificient palace. The Madurai tourism should promote this place.Everything is neglected with birds and bird droppings. The entrance fee is minimal hence no diterrance for people to enter.
Perhaps should be made part of school cuuriculum to get the next generation interested and preserve the place.very proud of Thirumalai Nayakar
